An uncommon, spreading shrub prized for its striking ornamental foliage, Acacia glaucoptera makes a unique addition to the garden. Its distinctive, flattened, wing-like leaves are mid-green in colour, creating a bold textural effect unlike most other acacias. Fresh new growth emerges with attractive red to pink tinges, adding seasonal interest and enhancing its visual appeal.Naturally prostrate to semi-prostrate in habit, this small shrub forms a low, spreading shape that works well as a feature plant or informal barrier. While its spiky appearance adds structure, the foliage is not overly harsh, making it both practical and attractive.Regular pruning is recommended to maintain a neat shape and encourage vibrant new growth. Prune immediately after flowering and remove any dead wood to keep the plant looking its best.
