Euphorbia pulcherrima Poinsettia is a bold and festive shrub grown commercially for seasonal home dcor and potted colour. It is distinguished by its deep, rich red bracts with a distinctive oak-leaf shape and softly scalloped edges, giving plants a holly-bush appearance that sets it apart from traditional smooth-leaved red poinsettias. The bracts sit above lush, dark green foliage, creating a dense, vibrant display that is highly appealing at Christmas. When grown as a pot plant, the poinsettia is typically maintained in a compact, well-branched form through pruning, making it ideal for indoor decoration and retail presentation. In warm, frost-free and subtropical gardens, the same variety can be planted outdoors, where it develops into an open, bushy medium to large shrub or small tree, providing bold winter colour in the landscape.
