Juniperus horizontalis Blue Forest is a highly ornamental, prostrate evergreen shrub valued for its dense, finely textured blue foliage. It forms a low, flat carpet that works beautifully as a groundcover. The foliage displays a cool blue tone through the warmer months and gradually deepens to darker blue-purple shades during winter, adding seasonal interest to the garden. The plant grows with slightly ascending branchlets that resemble a miniature spruce forest, giving it a unique, softly layered appearance. This distinctive growth habit makes Blue Forest Juniper ideal for cascading over retaining walls, covering larger areas as a low-maintenance groundcover, or softening the edges of pathways and garden beds. Hardy and adaptable, it performs best in full sun with well-drained soil and is a reliable choice for adding year-round colour and texture to rockeries, borders, and landscape plantings.
