Thuja plicata, commonly known as Western Red Cedar, is a fast-growing, evergreen conifer with a pyramidal habit and a graceful, drooping branch structure that provides a year-round attractive appearance. The foliage is scale-like and fragrant, with colours ranging from yellow-green to dark green. The bark is reddish-brown and fibrous, and it peels off in long, thin strips. This species is a popular choice for ornamental plantings, windbreaks, and screening due to its attractive foliage, conical shape and fast growth.

Soil: Moist soil.
Conditions: Full sun to partial shade. Cold, frost and coastal hardy.
Size: Height 20-30m x width 6-8m
