The White Sprite Cotyledon, a standout variety of Cotyledon orbiculata, is a sculptural marvel that brings a frosty, modern elegance to any sunny corner of your yard. This architectural succulent typically grows into a tidy, upright clump reaching about 8 to 12 inches tall, making it a perfect “thriller” for patio containers or rock gardens. To keep its foliage looking like a powdery, silver-white dream, plant it infull sun to bright, indirect light; the more sun it gets, the more likely its leaf tips are toblush with a stunning magenta or deep red hue. One of thebest-kept secrets about this plant is that its thick, chalky leaves are naturallydeer- and rabbit-resistant, thanks to the waxy “farina” coating and unique texture, whicharen’t very appetizing to local visitors. It is a tough, water-wise neighbor that offers beautiful orange-red lantern blooms in the fall, proving you do not need much water to have a lot of style.
